A Finly rebate is for a product you don't already have. For most banks, that's all "new" means: you can already bank with them, or hold another of their cards, and still earn the rebate on a product you don't have yet.
Most banks: new to the product
- With Scotiabank, BMO, RBC, TD and most other banks, you qualify as long as you don't already hold the card or account you're applying for, even if you bank with them today.
- Having a chequing account or another card with the bank doesn't stop you earning a rebate on a card you don't have yet.
- An offer page's terms say when an offer is different, for example one that leaves out people who already hold a card from the same family.
Simplii Financial: new to Simplii
Simplii Financial only counts people who are new to Simplii. If you've ever had a Simplii account, even one you've since closed, Simplii doesn't credit us for your application, so we can't pay a rebate on it.
Not sure whether you qualify? Ask us before you apply.
