How do I choose a broker?

The brokers page ranks online brokers by welcome bonus for the amount you plan to fund, and lets you filter by free stock trading, free ETF trading, fractional shares and crypto. Sort by highest bonus, highest rated or name.

The brokers page compares online brokers in Canada. Its controls are in three groups: how much you'll fund, which trading features you want, and how to sort the results. We don't give investment advice, so use it to shortlist, then read each broker's own terms.

  1. Enter your Funding Amount

Use the slider, or type a Custom Amount from $1 up to $10,000,000. Brokers are ranked by the welcome bonus they offer for an investment of that size, so a different amount can change the order.

  2. Pick the trading features you care about

Turn on any of Free Stock Trading, Free ETF Trading, Fractional Share Trading and Crypto Trading Available to see only brokers that offer them.

  3. Choose how to sort

Under Sort Results, set Sort By to Highest Bonus, Highest Rated or Name (A-Z).

  4. Reset if you want to start over

The reset button at the bottom of the controls clears your choices.
