Cash back and rebates

Why was my rebate declined?

A Declined rebate means the bank or store didn't confirm it, usually because the application was declined, the purchase was cancelled or returned, or the offer's terms weren't met. When the institution pays us nothing, there is no rebate to pass on.

Updated Nov 4, 2026

Finly rebates come from the commission an institution pays us when you're approved. If the institution doesn't confirm your application or purchase, it pays us nothing, so there is no rebate to share. That's what Declined (or Declined by merchant on Tracked Visits) means.

Common reasons

  • The institution declined your application.
  • You already hold that product with the institution. Finly rebates apply only to brand new sign-ups, and the rebate won't apply if the institution flags you as an existing customer.
  • The purchase was cancelled or returned.
  • The offer's terms weren't met, for example a step such as card activation, or a first purchase or deposit within the stated window.

What you can do

  1. Open the visit on Tracked Visits

Tap Offer terms to read what the offer required, and compare it with what you did.

  2. Try a different offer if your application was declined

You're welcome to apply for a different offer through FinlyWealth. The rebate applies once a product is approved.

  3. Ask us if something looks wrong

If you believe you met the terms, send a request with the tracking ID. The steps are in My cash back is missing. What do I do?
