Every card tool works out rewards on your spending, so every one of them asks for it. You don't have to type it again each time. Your browser remembers the last numbers you entered, and if you have an account you can save them as a named spending profile and load it in any tool.
What gets saved
- Without an account: the spending you enter on the compare page, the card calculators and side by side is kept in your browser for 180 days, and those tools share it. Clearing your browser's site data removes it.
- With an account: a spending profile keeps a name, your spending in each category (each one entered as monthly or yearly), optional notes and an optional household. It does not keep your credit score, your income or your filters.
Save a profile
- Open the compare page or Card combos. On a side by side page, click Edit spending.
- Enter your spending in each category. A row can be switched between Monthly and Yearly if you think of it in yearly amounts.
- Under Saved profiles, click Save current.
- Type a Profile name (up to 60 characters, for example “Groceries heavy”). If you already have a household, you can also file the profile in it. That is optional.
- Click Save. If you're signed out, that spot says “Sign in to save these inputs as a reusable profile” and offers a Sign in button.
- Sign in and open Spending Profiles in your account pages.
- Click Create profile.
- Fill in the Profile name, choose where the profile Opens in (Compare cards or Card combos), add Notes (optional) if you like, and enter your spending.
- Click Create profile again. If the name is blank or no spending is entered, the form asks you to fix that before it saves.
Load a profile into a tool
The compare page, Card combos and the Your spending panel on a side by side page all list your profiles under Saved profiles. Click the download icon (“Load this profile”) next to the one you want and the numbers fill in. On the compare page the results update straight away. From the Spending Profiles page, the Open in compare or Open in combos button takes you there with the profile loaded.
Manage your profiles
On the Spending Profiles page each profile has an edit button (“Edit spending inputs”) and a More menu. From it you can rename the profile, change which tool it opens in, make a copy with Duplicate…, move it to a household, choose Share this profile or Delete it. A household keeps a family's or a client's profiles together. Create one with New household.
