Cash Value or Best Redemption: how are my points valued?
Cash Value counts your points at their statement credit rate. Best Redemption counts them at the highest value the program offers, often travel. The setting changes the dollar figures and the order of cards on Compare cards, and the annual fee comes off in both.
How do I pair cards with the combos calculator?
The combos calculator takes your monthly spending and finds the cards that earn the most together, putting each purchase on the card that earns the most for it. Results are ranked by net annual rewards: rewards, less annual fees and foreign transaction fees.
How do I convert points to dollars?
The points calculator has two tabs. Points Value shows what a number of points is worth, redemption by redemption. Redemption Value takes a flight or hotel's cash price and works out the cents per point you got. Both show the arithmetic.
How do I plan a balance transfer?
The balance transfer calculator compares the interest on your card today with the cost of moving the balance to each card with a live offer: transfer fee, promo and later interest, and any annual fee. The difference is your estimated saving.
