Our take

CIBC Aventura® Visa* Card for Business

If your business flies Air Canada regularly, this card pays for itself quickly. You get 2x Aeroplan points across a broad set of categories — travel, dining, shipping, telecom — plus tangible perks like free checked bags and Maple Leaf Lounge guest passes. The welcome offer of up to 75,000 points is generous, and the first-year fee is rebated. The catch: bonus earning is capped at $80,000 in annual purchases across the entire account, and the card’s value drops sharply if you don’t redeem through Aeroplan. Not the right pick for businesses that want cashback simplicity or fly with multiple airlines.

  • First-year annual fee rebate
  • Welcome offer up to 75,000 Aeroplan points
  • Free first checked bag for the cardholder + companions
  • Up to 4 Maple Leaf Lounge one-time guest passes per year (earned via spend)
  • $180 annual fee
  • Best value is for Air Canada / Aeroplan loyalists
  • Bonus earning capped at $80,000 annual spend
  • Welcome bonus requires significant spend to maximize ($40,000 in year one)
  • Not a simple “cash back” style card for businesses that want easy redemption

TD® Aeroplan® Visa* Business Card

A well-rounded Aeroplan card that earns 2x on Air Canada purchases and 1.5x across travel, dining, transit, and common business categories. The real draw is the travel perks: free first checked bag, NEXUS application rebate, and Maple Leaf Lounge passes you can unlock through spending. At $149/year, it’s priced lower than most premium travel cards and delivers solid value if you fly Air Canada even a few times a year. If you rarely fly Air Canada or prefer flexible redemption, this card won’t justify itself — the rewards are built entirely around the Aeroplan ecosystem.

  • Generous welcome bonus
  • 2x points on Air Canada purchases
  • NEXUS application fee rebate
  • Maple Leaf Lounge guest passes
  • Base earn rate of 1x
  • $149 annual fee
  • Additional cards cost $49
  • Limited value if you rarely fly Air Canada

b) Additional bonus of 10,000 Aventura Points after the first purchase is made within first 4 monthly statement periods.

d) A one-time annual fee rebate for the Credit Card Account, including the Primary Cardholder and all Authorized Users set up at the time of the application.

Offer applies to newly approved Credit Card Accounts; transfers from another CIBC credit card to any CIBC Aventura® Visa* Card for Business (regardless of the annual fee) are excluded.

Credit Card Account must be open and in Good Standing at the time the Aventura Points are awarded. Aventura Points are awarded to the Primary Cardholder within 8 weeks after all qualifying net Purchase(s) are posted to the credit card account. The following do not qualify as Purchases: Cash Advances, Balance Transfers, CIBC Convenience Cheques, interest, fees, payments, and Aventura Points redemptions. It may take up to several business days for purchases to be posted to the Credit Card Account. This offer is non-transferable. This offer may be withdrawn or changed without prior notice at any time. CIBC may approve your application, but you are not eligible to receive this Offer if you have opened, transferred or cancelled another Aventura card within the last 12 months. This offer may be revoked if the Business or any Cardholder appear to be manipulating or abusing it, or are engaged in any suspicious or fraudulent activity, as determined by CIBC in its sole discretion.

This offer does not apply to annual fees for additional Cards that are added after the application is submitted. This offer applies for the first year only. If the Business qualifies for the rebate, it will be awarded to the Credit Card Account and will appear as a credit against the applicable annual fee(s) within 2 statements after the eligible Credit Card Account is opened. The new Credit Card Account must be open and in Good Standing at the time the rebate is awarded.

If the application for an eligible card is not approved, you may be considered for another card (as disclosed in the credit card application). If the application is approved for that card, this annual fee rebate offer will apply in the amount of the annual fee, if any, of the alternate card or Credit Card Account, as applicable.

The over $1,800 value is based on the combined total value of: the maximum redemption value of $1,600 for 70,000 Aventura Points on two long-haul airfares ($800 travel value each), based on the Aventura Airline Rewards Chart, before taxes and other charges, as of March 1, 2023; and an annual fee rebate for the first year (up to $180) for the Primary Cardholder and three additional cards ($150).

For full details, review the maximum ticket prices and Aventura Flight Rewards Chart at the CIBC Rewards Centre. Some airlines may impose fees, restrictions or other conditions on air travel.

To obtain an Airline Travel Reward using the Aventura Airline Rewards Chart, you must redeem at least 80% of the total number of Aventura Points required to purchase it. If you don’t have enough Aventura Points to purchase an Airline Travel Reward in full (but have at least 80% of the required number of Aventura Points), you may have the Centre charge an amount to your Card to cover the Points Deficit, excluding Taxes and Other Charges. For a business class flight, you may have the Centre charge an amount to your Card to cover the Points Deficit for an economy class ticket in the same flight segment as the business class ticket you want, excluding Taxes and Other Charges. If you have the Centre charge an amount to your Card to cover the Points Deficit for an Airline Travel Reward and you are advised that the Aventura Travel Reward is refundable, then, in the event of a refund, the amount previously charged to your Card will not be refunded to your Credit Card Account and instead you will receive Aventura Points equal to the Points Deficit.

Capitalized terms used and not defined herein have the meanings given to them in the CIBC Business Cardholder Agreement (Personal Liability).

Independent third party service providers and suppliers may provide supplies and services for CIBC by Expedia, including the Website. CIBCByExpedia.com website is operated by Expedia, Inc. Aventura Points may not be credited if the CIBC Aventura Visa Card for Business account is not in Good Standing during a monthly statement period (otherwise Aventura Points earned in the monthly period are cancelled). Aventura Program is subject to change; refer to rewards.cibcrewards.com.

6Aventura Points will be cancelled if they remain unredeemed for 60 days after you voluntarily close your Aventura credit card account or within 12 months of the primary cardholder’s death.

7Aventura Points can be redeemed when purchased through the CIBC Rewards Centre.  For complete details, visit CIBC Rewards Centre at cibcrewards.com

8Only the Primary Cardholder is permitted to perform a “Payment with Points” or “Financial Product with Points” redemption. Other Cardholders are not eligible. Redemptions are non-refundable, non-exchangeable and non-transferable unless you are advised otherwise. Requested redemption amount must be equal to or less than the available points balance. Points to dollars conversion ratio is determined by CIBC and can be changed at any time without notice. Payment with Points redemption towards credit card balances will be reflected within five business days. Information on using Points towards outstanding principal and CIBC financial products, including registered savings accounts and Investor’s Edge accounts, can be found on the CIBC Payment with Points page.

All Aventura Program rewards displayed above are subject to availability.

9CIBC Rewards Program clients may “transfer,” which means move, the Aventura points earned from eligible Aventura credit card accounts, where they are the primary cardholder or Rewards Officer. Transferring Points can be done between Aventura credit cards through the CIBC Rewards Centre or by calling 1-888-232-5656. Authorized Users cannot perform points transfer transactions, but will be able to view any points transfer activity on the Primary’s account in their account history. Points entered must be positive and within the minimum of 1 and the maximum of total points available in the account, at the time of performing points transfers. The Credit Card Accounts that you wish to transfer points between must be in good standing.

10Aventura Points can be redeemed for up to 100% of the cost of airfare as well as (if you have sufficient points) for taxes and other charges on airfare purchased through the CIBC Rewards Centre. You must book all flights through the CIBC Rewards Centre. Some taxes and other charges may be collected locally or when you are travelling, and cannot be prepaid. Ask an Aventura Travel Assistant for details.

11Insurance coverage(s) included with CIBC credit cards are underwritten by Belair Insurance Company Inc. You may contact the insurer at 1-866-363-3338 in Canada and the U.S. or collect from elsewhere at 905-403-3338 or visit cibc.client.insure. Different cards will have different coverage(s). To learn about which coverage(s) are included with a specific card, and important information regarding coverage eligibility requirements, benefits, limitations and exclusions, review the Certificate(s) of Insurance in your card package and CIBC Agreements and Insurance. Some insurance coverage(s) require purchase(s), car rentals, common carrier fares, accommodations and other trip costs to be charged to the card, or be for business purposes, to activate coverage. Other conditions may also apply. Car Rental Collision/Loss Damage Insurance (CLDI) is available for a rental period of up to 48 days for rental vehicles with a MSRP of up to $85,000 CAD and not otherwise excluded from coverage. The full cost of the rental must be charged to the card and the rental agency’s Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) or Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) must be declined. CLDI provides coverage up to the actual cash value (ACV) of the rental vehicle as defined in your Certificate of Insurance. Note that some rental agencies may assess their damages at an amount greater than the ACV of the rental vehicle and you may be liable to them for the difference. Before declining the rental agency's CDW or LDW, you should read carefully and compare the terms of the rental agreement, the CLDI Certificate of Insurance in your card package and any other insurance you own to decide which coverage best meets your protection needs. Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption Insurance may not cover certain health/medical conditions that are not stable before your trip. Certain coverages are “excess insurance” (all other sources of insurance and recovery must be exhausted before coverage is available).

12CIBC Travel Insurance is underwritten by member companies of The Co-operators, and is administered by TIC Travel Insurance Coordinators Ltd. No insurance is payable for any pre-existing condition unless you have applied and qualified for pre-existing condition coverage and received a Guarantee of Coverage from the insurer. A detailed summary of the terms, conditions, limitations, exclusions and other provisions are contained in the Certificate of Insurance, which you receive upon purchase.

Aeroplan points have no cash value but are redeemable under the Aeroplan program for flights and other rewards. The retail value of rewards obtained using Aeroplan points will vary depending on a range of factors including the type of reward issued, details of which may be found at https://www.aircanada.com/ca/en/aco/home/aeroplan.html. Aeroplan points may be redeemed only in accordance with the General Terms & Conditions of the Aeroplan program. Full terms and conditions of the Aeroplan Program are available online at https://www.aircanada.com/ca/en/aco/home/aeroplan/legal/terms-and-conditions.html. All offers are contingent on satisfying the criteria outlined in the offer terms and conditions.

Γ Effective as of January 13, 2026. To be eligible for this Offer, the Cardholder who is an Individual Borrower must: (i) be approved for a TD® Aeroplan® Visa Business Card  account (“Account”) with an Annual Fee of $149 ("Account") while this Offer is in effect, and (ii) not have opened any TD-Aeroplan Visa Card account (e.g., Platinum, Infinite, Infinite Privilege or Business] in the last 12 months.  Even if TD approves your application for an Account, the award and issuance of any Aeroplan points pursuant to this Offer is subject to the Aeroplan program general Terms and Conditions located at aircanada.com/Aeroplan-termsandconditions, which provide that incentive or bonus Aeroplan points offered (including, for example, the Welcome Bonus, Monthly Bonus and PAP Bonus in this Offer) to become an Aeroplan credit cardholder and/or to activate, use or hold a new Aeroplan credit card may not be issued and may be revoked in certain circumstances including, but not limited to, if you have previously received welcome or other incentive Aeroplan points in connection with the opening, activation, use or holding of a new Aeroplan credit card account with TD or another issuer of the same card category type  as the Account.

Welcome Bonus of 10,000 Aeroplan points ("Welcome Bonus") will be awarded to the Cardholder who is the Individual Borrower of the Account only after the first Purchase is made on the Account. The “Cardholder” means the Individual Borrower of the Account who is issued the TD® Aeroplan® Visa* Business Card account with an Annual Fee of $149.

Once you have earned 30,000 Monthly Bonus Points in the first 12 months following Account approval, you will no longer be eligible for additional Monthly Bonus Points. Purchases made during a billing period but posted after the end of that billing period will not count toward eligible Purchases for that month but will count toward eligible Purchases for the next billing period. For example, if your monthly billing period is from September 15 to October 14, a Purchase that is made on October 14 (transaction date) and posts on October 15 (posting date) will not count as an eligible Purchase for that month but will count towards spend in the next month's billing period.
