There are several benefits that make the United® MileagePlus® Neo World Elite® Mastercard worthwhile.
One of the most notable aspects of the United® MileagePlus® Neo World Elite® Mastercard is that it comes with a lower annual fee compared to major bank premium card alternatives.
Cardholders can also get their hands on plenty of extra MileagePlus miles upon activation, first transaction, and when certain spending thresholds are met. A renewal bonus of even more miles is also credited to active accounts with eligible spend annually, boosting that first year value even further.
On top of solid miles on United and Star Alliance flight, plus dining and groceries, cardholders receive extra miles on Neo Partner purchases.
Your first checked bag is covered on all future United flights.
Be among the first to board with group 2 priority boarding for you and your family.
Cardholders receive up to $120 USD reimbursed every 5 years toward a new Nexus application or renewal. Nexus gives Canadian travellers expedited border crossing between Canada and the U.S.
Earn and redeem MileagePlus miles across United Airlines and 25+ Star Alliance partner airlines worldwide, including Air Canada, Lufthansa, and more.
Enjoy access to over 1,400 airport lounges worldwide through the Mastercard Travel Pass program powered by DragonPass. Membership included, per-visit entry fee will apply.
Like any credit card, the United® MileagePlus® Neo World Elite® Mastercard also has a couple of drawbacks.
To qualify for this card, you'll need to meet some high annual income requirements, making this contender less accessible to some.
The earn rate on all purchases outside of branded travel, dining, groceries, and partner purchases is quite low.

Recognized as one of the best no foreign transaction fee credit cards in Canada, the Scotiabank Passport Visa Infinite Card earns more Scene+ points on groceries, dining, and travel. On top of no foreign transaction fees, cardholders also receive some complimentary Dragon Pass airport lounge visits, concierge services, and an Avis Preferred Plus membership. While this competitor is more expensive annually, it has lower personal income requirements.
Verdict: The Scotiabank Passport Visa Infinite Card is superior and more accessible for travellers who want to avoid foreign transaction fees, receive free lounge access, and optimize their dining, groceries, and general travel even further. That said, United cardholders can earn additional miles on similar categories on partner purchases.
The MBNA Rewards World Elite Mastercard, one of the best rewards credit cards in Canada, earns more initial MBNA Rewards points on dining and groceries. While it doesn't explicitly collect points on travel, all rewards can be redeemed towards travel at a solid cent-per-point value. For perks, cardholders can expect an annual birthday bonus of extra points, car rental discounts, concierge services, and trip and legal assistance. Note, however, that both the annual fee and income requirements are higher.
Verdict: For those who qualify, the MBNA Rewards World Elite Mastercard offers better optimization on groceries and dining, which can later be redeemed at a high value towards travel. However, United cardholders can earn additional miles on similar categories on partner purchases and pocket miles directly on travel purchases.
With the Scotiabank Gold American Express Card, cardholders can collect more initial Scene+ points on groceries, dining, and travel. Like the Scotiabank Passport, the Scotiabank Gold Amex also avoids foreign transaction fees and includes concierge services and a discount on a Priority Pass membership. While the Scotiabank Gold Amex is pricier annually than the United Card, it has much lower annual income requirements.
Verdict: The Scotiabank Gold Amex is much more accessible and earns better initial points on similar categories. Still, the United Card can boost its earn categories on partner purchases and has more travel perks overall.
Ranked as one of the best TD credit cards in Canada, the TD First Class Travel Visa Card earns more TD Rewards points on travel, groceries, and dining. That said, TD Rewards points aren't very valuable overall. Regardless, cardholders still receive valuable travel perks like an annual travel credit and complimentary airport lounge access. While the annual fee is higher than the United Card, it's waived for the first year. Personal annual income requirements are also lower on this contender.
Verdict: The TD First Class Travel Visa Infinite Card is great for those who book through Expedia for TD and who want free lounge access.
Currently, the annual income requirements of the United® MileagePlus® Neo World Elite® Mastercard are $80,000 individual or $100,000 household.
The United® MileagePlus® Neo World Elite® Mastercard comes with a Dragon Pass airport lounge membership, but cardholders still need to pay an entry fee per visit
No, MileagePlus miles do not expire. They remain active as long as you earn or redeem at least once every 18 months.
If you're a frequent United Airlines flyer, then the United® MileagePlus® Neo World Elite® Mastercard offers significant value, earning applicable miles on both branded and everyday purchases to support your next getaway.
