National Bank
Our Take
The National Bank World Mastercard offers solid insurance coverage and flexible rewards that can be redeemed for travel or other perks. However, the reward tiers can be confusing, with points fluctuating based on your annual spending. The income requirements are also high for a card that doesn't offer an introductory bonus. The card’s strong suit is its travel insurance, which is particularly valuable for frequent travelers. If you don’t need the higher-tier benefits or find the tiered reward structure too complicated, consider alternatives like the National Bank Platinum Mastercard.

Little details that matter
This welcome offer will end on May 31, 2022. It includes a 3-month period during which you get a discount on the account if a minimum amount of net purchases is charged to the World Mastercard credit card.
* Promotion of 20,000 rewards points upon joining and pay no annual fee for the first year:
Promotion valid from February 14, 2022 to May 31, 2022 for the National Bank World® Mastercard® credit card. To take advantage of this offer, you must sign up for an eligible National Bank credit card by May 31, 2022. Credit card issued subject to credit approval by National Bank. Certain conditions apply.
Savings on annual fees for the first year:
The annual fees for the card will be refunded for the first year for the primary cardholder and for the first authorized user added to the account. To receive the annual fee refund for the first authorized user, you must add them on the account opening application. Annual fees will appear as a charge and credit on the 4th statement, at the latest, after your account is opened.
The primary cardholder is responsible for all charges to the account, including those incurred by authorized users.
Bonus rewards points:
The 20,000 rewards points applied under this promotion will be credited to the credit card account in a single payment no later than the 5th statement following the account opening:
You'll receive 20,000 rewards points if $3,000 or more in net purchases are charged to the credit card account within the first three months following enrollment.
The account must be in good standing at the time the annual fees are refunded and bonus rewards points are applied.
The net purchases charged to your card are calculated over a period of three months, starting at account opening. For example, if the account is opened on March 15, 2022, the account holder will have until June 15, 2022 to charge the required amount of purchases to the account and obtain the bonus rewards points.
Net purchases refer to the amount in purchases charged to the account, excluding returns and refunds. Annual fees, balance transfers, cash advances (including transactions that can be converted directly to cash, such as money orders and gambling transactions), interest charges and any other fees and adjustments are not considered purchases and are therefore not included in the calculation.

There are two main elements of a joint credit card:
Please remember that the primary cardholder is responsible for paying any outstanding balances and managing the account. This also means that they’re the ones who will receive any cashback generated by the account. If any disagreements or separations occur, the authorized users and primary cardholder must agree on how to proceed.
The authorized user doesn’t receive a statement and doesn’t have access to transaction details and account information, including the credit card limit. However, both cardholders can enjoy the benefits of their card. They can also change their respective PINs, as well as cancel or replace their cards.
How do I get a joint credit card?
If you’re applying for a new credit card, answer “Yes” to the “Do you need an additional card” question in our application form.
If you’d like an additional card for an existing account, fill out our credit card application or call us at 1-888-622-2783.
Please note that there’s an annual fee for an additional credit card.
