This card is the only one with no annual fee that provides a roadside assistance benefit, which can be a lifesaver for people who travel on the road a lot. The main reason to apply for this card is to have free access to this benefit, given that the rewards are not great in most categories (except for Canadian Tire and grocery purchases).

The Triangle Mastercard is an excellent choice for loyal Canadian Tire shoppers, offering high rewards at their stores and a decent grocery cash-back rate. However, it falls short in other spending categories, offers no insurance, and the rewards can only be redeemed at Canadian Tire locations. If you’re not frequently shopping at these stores, there are better no-fee alternatives available.

The Canadian Tire Cash Advantage Mastercard is a solid choice for frequent shoppers at Canadian Tire stores. However, it may not be the best option for those looking for higher cashback or rewards on purchases outside of the Canadian Tire family of stores. The tiered rewards system and lack of insurance are notable downsides. If simplicity and more comprehensive rewards are what you're after, alternatives like the SimplyCash® Card from American Express might be better suited to your needs.

The Triangle World Elite Mastercard stands out as the best Canadian Tire credit card thanks to its strong rewards, solid insurance coverage, and standout benefits. In fact, it ranks highly as one of the best store credit cards in Canada. Cardholders earn high Canadian Tire dollar cashback at Canadian Tire and a wide range of affiliated retailers, including Sport Chek, Mark’s, Atmosphere, and Sports Experts, along with competitive rewards on grocery purchases (excluding Costco and Walmart). The card also includes essential protections such as purchase protection and car rental damage and theft insurance.
Beyond rewards, the card offers exceptional value through premium benefits like fuel discounts at Gas+ and Petro-Canada, access to concierge services, and the Roadside Assistance Gold Plan. Notably, it’s the only no-annual-fee credit card in Canada that includes roadside assistance, making one of the best roadside assistance credit cards in Canada. Just note the high annual income requirements. Learn more in our Triangle World Elite Mastercard Review.
The Triangle Mastercard delivers the same strong Canadian Tire dollar cashback on purchases made at Canadian Tire and its affiliated retailers, including Sport Chek, Mark’s, Atmosphere, and Sports Experts. However, compared to the Triangle World Elite Mastercard, it earns roughly half the cashback on grocery purchases and a lower base rate on all other spending. While it doesn’t include any insurance coverage, cardholders still benefit from fuel discounts on premium and regular gas at Gas+ and Petro-Canada locations.
Overall, the Triangle Mastercard is a solid alternative for those who don’t meet the income requirements of the World Elite version. Although it lacks insurance and enhanced perks, it preserves the card’s core strength: high rewards at Canadian Tire stores. Read more in our Triangle Mastercard Review.
The Canadian Tire Cash Advantage Mastercard uses a tiered rewards system that increases cashback as spending milestones are reached, with double cashback available at Canadian Tire stores, Canadian Tire gas bars, and Mark’s. However, the initial earning tier is extremely low, and even the higher tiers offer underwhelming returns, making it one of the weakest options in Canada for accumulating meaningful rewards. Even at the highest spending level, it fails to match the cashback rates offered by either Triangle credit card on Canadian Tire purchases.
With no insurance coverage or added benefits, the card’s value rests entirely on its rewards structure, which ultimately falls short. As a result, this card should be considered only as a last resort for earning cashback at Canadian Tire. Most shoppers will be far better served by a Triangle card, or by other no-fee cashback credit cards that provide stronger earning rates and additional perks. Choosing the right Canadian Tire credit card for you comes down to your spending habits and financial status.
Obviously, you'll want to ensure you frequently shop at Canadian Tire and affiliated brands to make this type of card worthwhile. Then the decision relies on whether you want a premium contender, like the Triangle World Elite Mastercard, or a more accessible contender, like the Triangle Mastercard, depending on your income.
Since the cards above are so niche, they work well as supplementary cards to other everyday or travel credit cards.

To apply for a Canadian Tire credit card, simply tap the "Apply Now" button featured below any of the contenders above. From there, you'll be redirected to the issuer's official website to kickstart the application process. Credit card applications typically ask for personal information, such as your birthdate, email, and address. The application may also request financial information, like your income, when applicable.
As of now, the income requirements for the Triangle World Elite Mastercard are a minimum personal income of $80,000 or a minimum household income of $150,000.
Since none of these Canadian Tire credit cards come with substantial cashback rates on purchases made outside of Canadian Tire stores or any extensive coverage or benefits (except for the few perks included on the Triangle World Elite Mastercard), these cards are certainly worth pairing with other budget-conscious cashback credit cards or travel-oriented contenders.
