FAQ
Common questions, answered.
Still unsure? Reach out to support after signing up, and we'll get back to you within a couple of business days.
Yes. The Finly rebate stacks with whatever sign-up offer or welcome bonus the institution provides. You get both.
Rebates are sent via Interac e-Transfer to the email on your Finly profile. Once your sign-up is verified, payments are typically processed within 10 days.
The financial institution reports the transaction back to us within a few days to a few weeks, depending on their reporting cadence. You can track the status from your Finly account.
Switching devices mid-application, using a VPN, ad blocker, or incognito mode can break our tracking cookies. Complete the application on a single device in one session for a smooth experience.
Usually, if it's a product you don't have yet. With most banks, including Scotiabank, BMO, RBC and TD, you only need to be new to the product, not the bank, so another card or a chequing account with them doesn't stop you. There's no rebate on a product you already hold, and this offer's terms can add conditions.
Try again from this page while signed in, with ad blockers and VPNs off, in one browser. If it still won't go through, contact us before you apply another way, and we'll tell you whether it can still earn the rebate.
Many premium credit cards require a minimum personal or household income. The required income (if any) is shown in the fees & rates panel above. The financial institution makes the final approval decision.
Each card targets a different credit profile. The recommended credit category is shown above. A higher score generally improves your odds of approval.

- Your entry or attempted entry in the Contest.

9.3 We do not guarantee that the Contest website will be accessible or operate without interruption throughout the Contest Period or that it will be error-free.
9.4 During the Contest Period, our computer system may be unable to register all entries received. The draw may then be held solely from among the entries that were registered. Entry in the Contest may also end before the end date set out in these Contest Rules. In that event, the draw may be held from among the entries received and registered up to the date of the event that ended participation in the Contest.
9.5 Entry forms, no-purchase entry letters and Declaration and Liability Waiver forms are our property and will not be returned to you.
9.6 We will not contact you in connection with the Contest except as provided in these Contest Rules or on our own initiative.

10. OUR REMEDIES
10.1 We may verify entry forms, no-purchase entry letters and Declaration and Liability Waiver forms. We may reject an entry form, letter or Declaration and Liability Waiver, for example, if it is incomplete, fraudulent or submitted late. A rejected entry form, letter or Declaration and Liability Waiver will not entitle you to an entry or a prize, as applicable.
10.2 We may disqualify you or cancel one of your entries if you enter or attempt to enter in breach of these Contest Rules or in a manner that is unfair to other entrants, such as through hacking or by exceeding the permitted entry limit. You may be referred to the appropriate judicial authorities.
10.3 Any attempt to deliberately damage a website related to the Contest or to undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest is a violation of civil and criminal laws. If such an attempt is made, we reserve the right to reject your entry and seek remedies under the law.
10.4 We reserve the right, at any time and in our sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest, in whole or in part, if an event or human intervention occurs that may corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness or operation of the Contest. In all cases, we will not be required to award more prizes or to award a prize other than as provided in these Contest Rules.
11. INTERPRETATION OF THE CONTEST RULES
11.1 In these Contest Rules, the entrant is the person identified on the entry form or no-purchase entry letter, as applicable. The prize will be awarded to that person if they are selected and declared a winner.
11.2 If any provision of these Contest Rules is declared unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision will be deemed null and void, but all other unaffected provisions will remain in force.
11.3 If the English and French versions of these Contest Rules are not identical, the French version will prevail.

To learn more about the terms applicable to your card, read the Credit card Agreement[PDF].
There are two main elements of a joint credit card:
- The primary cardholder’s name will be the one that appears on the credit card contract. This person can decide to add up to three authorized users to their account, as well as remove them at any time. They must meet all the eligibility criteria to apply for a credit card.
- An authorized user has their own card and PIN. However, all transactions made by that person are charged to the primary cardholder’s account. An authorized user could be a spouse, a child aged 16 or older, or a friend. The designated person doesn’t need to meet all of the eligibility criteria to access their card.
Please remember that the primary cardholder is responsible for paying any outstanding balances and managing the account. This also means that they’re the ones who will receive any cashback generated by the account. If any disagreements or separations occur, the authorized users and primary cardholder must agree on how to proceed.
The authorized user doesn’t receive a statement and doesn’t have access to transaction details and account information, including the credit card limit. However, both cardholders can enjoy the benefits of their card. They can also change their respective PINs, as well as cancel or replace their cards.
How do I get a joint credit card?
If you’re applying for a new credit card, answer “Yes” to the “Do you need an additional card” question in our application form.
If you’d like an additional card for an existing account, fill out our credit card application or call us at 1-888-622-2783.
Please note that there’s an annual fee for an additional credit card.

For example, the annual fees related to the credit card must have been paid in full. The maximum amount that can be submitted for reimbursement between January 1 and December 31 of each year is $150.
Eligible expenses include:
- airport parking fees
- baggage fees
- seat selection fees
- access to airport lounges worldwide
- airline ticket upgrades
The claim must be submitted within 60 days of the purchase date and accompanied by proof of purchase. The travel fees must be charged to the National Bank World Elite Mastercard credit card. The maximum reimbursement amount is $150 per account. The refund will be issued within 7 business days following the request approval date and after receiving all required information. 6. The amount of points earned on grocery and restaurant purchases depends on the total gross monthly amount charged to the credit card account, regardless of the purchase category. You will earn 5 points for every dollar in eligible grocery and restaurant purchases until a total of $2,500 in gross monthly purchases is charged to the account. After that, you will earn 2 points per dollar in eligible grocery and restaurant purchases. The total gross monthly amount is calculated based on your monthly billing period. Grocery purchases include any purchase made at a store that primarily sells food, i.e., grocery store, delicatessen, supermarket, greengrocer or specialty food store. Ready-to-eat meal services and meal delivery services are eligible. This definition excludes purchases made at retail stores and big box stores whose core business is the sale of non-food items. Certain merchants may sell products and services that appear identical or similar to those sold by eligible merchants, or may be separate merchants located on the same premises as eligible merchants, but are classified in different categories by Mastercard. For purchases at other merchants, you will only earn regular rewards points. Restaurant purchases include purchases at a restaurant, fast food restaurant, bar, nightclub or pub. For a full list of Mastercard codes associated with eligible merchants, download the terms and conditions of the À la carte Rewards Plan®.
7. This coverage applies to purchases and rentals charged in part to the card, except out-of-province medical/hospital insurance for which the travel arrangements need not be charged to the card and lost or delayed luggage insurance where all transportation costs must be charged to the card. This coverage applies to the primary cardholder, their spouse and/or dependent children when they (spouse and/or dependent children) travel with the primary cardholder. Extended warranty coverage applies to most new items purchased with the card, in Canada or abroad, as long as the manufacturer's warranty is valid in Canada. Certain conditions and restrictions apply. For more information and for details of your insurance coverage, please consult the insurance certificate associated with your card.
8. Subject to credit approval by National Bank.
9. Certain conditions apply. Visit mastercard.ca for more information. Refer to the credit card terms and conditions.
10. To earn 2 points per dollar in purchases, you will need to purchase gas or an electrical vehicle charge from a service station or from certain big-box stores. Certain merchants may sell products and services that appear identical or similar to those sold by eligible merchants, or may be separate merchants located on the same premises as eligible merchants, but are classified in different categories by Mastercard. For purchases at other merchants, you will only earn regular rewards points. For a full list of Mastercard codes associated with eligible merchants, download the terms and conditions of the À la carte Rewards Plan®.
11. Recurring bill payments are defined as monthly or regular payments automatically charged by a merchant to your National Bank World Elite Mastercard credit card. Not all merchants offer recurring bill payments, and not all recurring payments are considered recurring bill payments. Certain payments therefore may not entitle you to earn more points.
12. To earn 2 points per dollar in purchases, you must make your eligible purchases via the À la carte TravelTM Agency section of our À la carte RewardsTM site.
