Mint alternative
· Built for CanadaMint is gone. Finly Money picks up where it left off.
Intuit closed Mint in March 2024 and sent everyone to Credit Karma, which tracks spending but has no budget you can set. Finly Money connects your Canadian banks, finds your bills and subscriptions, and keeps a budget that follows your month, in Canadian dollars.
Everything you used Mint for, and what it never did
A budget that keeps up
Set from what really comes in and goes out, then followed through the month for you, down to what's left to spend today.
Bills and subscriptions, found for you
The charges that repeat in your transactions, with what's due next, what each costs you a month, and a reminder before a charge lands or a price goes up.
Your TFSA, RRSP and FHSA
Connect Canadian brokerages read-only through SnapTrade, and see your registered accounts with holdings, allocation and gains beside your spending.

What your Canadian cards earn
Points and cash back on every purchase, worked out with each Canadian card's real earn rates and caps.
What happened to Mint, and what Canadians got instead.
Intuit closed Mint on March 23, 2024 and pointed its users to Credit Karma. In the US, that meant balances and spending, without budgets. In Canada, Credit Karma is a free credit score and report. The budget, the bills and the whole picture went away. Finly Money was built here, for the way Canadians bank.

To be fair to Mint
Mint did a lot for a free app, and it's fair to miss it. What it did, Finly Money does for Canadian banks today, and it adds the Canadian pieces Mint never had.
It was free
Mint cost nothing and paid for itself with the offers it showed you. Finly Money starts with a 7 days free trial on any plan, then you pay for it, so nobody else has to.
It had been around since 2006
Mint was one of the first apps to pull every account into one place, and millions of people learned to budget on it.
US users could carry their data over
In the US, Intuit let Mint users move their balances and three years of transactions into Credit Karma. Canadians were told to download their history instead.
Credit Karma still works in Canada
If all you wanted from Intuit was a free credit score, Credit Karma Canada offers one, with your report and monitoring.
Your money stays yours
Finly Money reads your accounts so it can sort and explain them. It can never move your money, and what you share is up to you.
Read-only, always
You sign in through Flinks or Plaid. Your bank password never reaches us, and nobody can move money through the link.
Yours to remove
Disconnect a bank any time. Deleting your account deletes your financial data with it.
Private on screen too
Privacy mode blurs amounts, merchants and account names with one switch, for when someone's looking over your shoulder.

Credit Karma. Intuit said it doesn't provide budgeting the way Mint did: in the US it shows balances, spending by category and net worth, but there's no budget to set and follow. In Canada, Credit Karma is a free credit score, credit report and monitoring; it doesn't connect your bank accounts, track your spending or keep a budget.
If you downloaded your Mint transactions as a CSV before it closed, upload the file to Finly Money the way you'd upload a bank statement, and your history comes in. Then connect your banks and the rest keeps coming in on its own.
Most Canadian banks, credit cards and credit unions, the big banks included, through our connection partners Flinks and Plaid. If yours isn't there, upload PDF or CSV statements from any bank, or add transactions by hand.
Finly Money starts from what really comes in and goes out, works out your bills and what to save, and tells you what's left to spend. Then it follows the month for you, down to a daily allowance, and you can give groceries, eating out or anything else its own limit.
Yes. Finly Money shows your Equifax Canada credit score and what's moving it, beside your budget and bills. Mint's free credit score was for US users only.
Your first plan starts with 7 days free, once per person, and your card is only charged when the trial ends. We'll email you 2 days before, so it never takes you by surprise. Cancel before then and you pay nothing.
Connections are read-only. You sign in through Flinks or Plaid, your bank password never reaches us, and nobody can move money through the link. Disconnect a bank any time; deleting your account deletes your financial data with it.
