Is this card worth it?
The TD Cash Back Visa Card is a solid no-fee option for individuals looking for a basic, easy-to-use credit card. While its rewards rates aren't the highest, the ability to redeem cash back anytime, coupled with no annual fee and essential insurance coverage, makes it an appealing choice for those with moderate spending who want a straightforward rewards card.
Is this card worth it?
We actually don't recommend this card much. For an annual fee, the rewards earned are very mediocre, and the benefit coverage leaves much to be desired. The only notable benefit is the roadside assistance, which can be covered by an alternative, better credit card.
Pros
- No annual fee, making it an excellent choice for those who want to earn rewards without paying a fee.
- 1% cash back on essential categories like gas, groceries, and recurring bills.
- Flexibility in redeeming cash back: you can redeem whenever you reach $25, rather than waiting for year-end or specific dates.
- Complimentary extended warranty and purchase protection insurance.
Pros
- The roadside assistance benefit is nice.
Cons
- Only 0.5% cash back on all other purchases, which is lower than some competitors.
- Limited insurance coverage compared to premium cash back cards.
Cons
- Rewards have a low base reward rate for purchases in non-categorized categories and don't include restaurant purchases, which is a very important reward category.
- The travel insurance coverage is very basic for a card that has an annual fee.
